Please prefer white backgrounds, pay attention to image resolution (avoid screenshots), and avoid images (clipart, AI generated) that does not contribute to understanding of the content.

For a short (<30 minutes) presentation, you typically do not need slides with the agenda – focus on your content instead.

Instead of PowerPoint, I strongly encourage you to use latex-beamer, e.g., using the moloch theme (likely included in your LaTeX distribution). LaTeX helps you focus on the content, and keep the style consistent.

Usage of Generative AI

If you use generative AI, please discuss the scope of usage beforehand with your supervisors. In our group, generative AI may be used without declaration for pure language correction (e.g., spelling and grammar), but any use that influences scientific content, code, analysis, interpretation, or presentation must be declared transparently. See the thesis template above for an example.

Students remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of all content in their thesis, regardless of whether generative AI tools were used.
